1. Hi Alice, tell us a bit about yourself and your background?

ALICE
I was born in Paris and raised in the North of France. I did a bachelor degree in economics and management and, for some time, I thought that I would have a classic life in office. But I love travelling since I was a child so my true passion came back quickly. In my twenties, I moved to the other side of the world and lived in Sydney, Australia for four years. I was completely blown away with nature, and I also got in love with the lifestyle. It was there that I started my journey into wellness and pilates.

2. Can you recall the first time you practiced and what sparked your interest?

ALICE
In Sydney, there were pilates studios everywhere so I had to try. My first pilates practice was fascinating. It was like waking up some parts of my body I had never felt before. The feeling of reconnecting with my body and working deeply my muscles was just magical. I started with pilates reformer classes and realised that the mat was very powerful too. Standing and moving side to side on the mat is so much more fun and efficient too!

3. How would you describe your mood after a pilates session?

ALICE
To say it in a few words – “my energy is back”.

4. What’s so unique about your practice? How would you describe your classes?

ALICE
It’s modern and dynamic. It allows me to let you connect your body and mind while working your muscles, alignment and posture. I always create new pilates flows to keep the challenge of the practice. It’s never boring but fun and energizing.

5. How does pilates help promote overall wellness and healthy aging? What are the long-term benefits?

ALICE
Pilates is very beautiful practice that you can do endlessly. It’s a low impact practice that will help you to get your spine healthier and make you feel stronger. By helping with your body alignment and activating your muscles and joints in a deep level, it will improve your daily activities, from walking to climbing stairs. It will help in other physical practices like running, and it also helps when you have some kind of injury.

6. In what ways has pilates shaped your body, personality and lifestyle?

ALICE
I have a better posture and I feel better in my body overall. I feel aligned and so much more connected with it. I feel stronger and more grounded too. Every day is “I can do it” for me.

7. What’s the best you’ve learned as a pilates instructor?

ALICE
Sharing and caring. Giving and receiving. Having compassion and love for others. When I give a class I see it as an experience shared between my students and I.

8. Aside from pilates, do you have any other self-care practices that you enjoy?

ALICE
I love running and hiking. Going outdoors and getting in touch with nature in an active way is great. I also love food and want to learn more about cooking!

9. Could you describe your morning routine?

ALICE
I wake up and love to make my coffee at home. Then I like to indulge myself and I spend 10 minutes massaging my face with my favourite oils. It helps me to depuff and it makes a huge difference on my skin.

10. Do you enjoy some self-care before going to bed?

ALICE
Again, my skincare routine while listening to calm music. Did I say I love facial massage?
