Sonia Perdeck's surreal dreams

Sonia Perneck is a photographer based in The Netherlands, currently studying at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. We love how nature always inspires her dream-like photographs, sometimes using mixed media and staging the scenes to create surreal atmospheres.

PLANTS

Tuberose Mistress of Voluptuousness

Tuberose, with its white blossoms with pale pink hues on the bud, look innocent enough, but emit a complex sweet fragrance often described as hypnotic. Indeed, in common with other sensual white flowers, its scent, stronger at night to attract pollinators, has an underlying animalic characteristic, with fragrance notes that hint at the body and sex.

PEOPLE

Madoka Rindal for ROWSE

Madoka got stuck into ceramics when she had her first child. She was captivated by the meditative process of the hand-building technique and the chance to create objects from A to Z. Now these creatures, plates, bowls and vases with inky blue moody faces bring happiness to our daily life.

PEOPLE

Claire Guarry for ROWSE

"Soft winds open my road back; each cycle seems to expand my hands since the day they started to outnumber us. We have all learned to fly over the hills and look out for each other. Here, looking forward is remembering, looking backwards is evolving."

Virtual flowers for Rowse
by Tessa-Rose Vardy

Who ever thought there would come a time where you can’t leave your house to buy fresh flowers. Having said that, I guess now would be the perfect moment to make a Rowse virtual reality mini garden. Due to the organic ingredients, these products naturally radiate nature for me. Each one a special colour. Pink, green, orange, green. Each colour inherently has a few flowers associated with it. Dearest flowers, I hope we can unite again soon in real life. Until then, I will be thinking of you while I use my Rowse products.

Inherent Beauty by Eduard Galia

"I’m fascinated by unexpected details and close-ups; it is observing the small things that we often tend to forget –on the sea, on the rocks, on the skin-- that we can appreciate the passing of time and the inevitable changes it brings into our lives."

PEOPLE

Linda Ring and the breads of happiness

Linda Ring lives surrounded by beauty. The beauty of nature in the Stockholm archipelago where she grew up and lives with her husband and her son, and the beauty she seeks in her everyday life. She observes the world and tries to take it to the next level. That’s how she came up with her “illustrated breads”. These baked compositions that take inspiration from the aesthetics of artists like Matisse and Jean Cocteau are full of poetry and a synonym of instant happiness.

PEOPLE

Alexandria Coe for ROWSE

Alexandria Coe is a London-based artist working with the nude. Only with a stick of black charcoal, she traces a couple of clean, raw lines that vividly capture the essence of human body. Fascinated by the way we communicate with each other through our bodies, her drawings are an exploration of the many forms the human body can adopt to express its own identity, feelings and emotions.

PLANTS

The Seven Flowers

It’s Midsummer’s Eve, a magical date that marks the arrival of our favourite season. While Mediterranean countries celebrate summer solstice with large gatherings lighting a bonfire on the beach, Scandinavian countries celebrate the arrival of the summer season with some rituals that connect them with their pagan, agricultural past. One of the most beautiful traditions is the ritual of The Seven Flowers.

PLANTS

Fig Tree Dolmades

The edible fig ('Ficus carica') was one of the first plants to be cultivated by humans. Native to Western Asia, the fig tree has shaped the history of Mediterranean cultures like no other.

Homemade Matcha Ricotta by Clara Diez

Matcha always gives a very special touch to anything you add it to, but curiously I had never thought of mixing it with cheese or with any other food... but when I knew that ROWSE had Matcha Powder as one of their raw ingredients, I got inspired to give it a try mixing it with a classic ricotta recipe.

“All my self-portraits work as some kind of intimate diary. I can go back to the moment I took the picture and vividly remember my feelings at that time.”

PLANET

Arcosanti

There’s a magical place in the middle of the Sonora desert, Arizona. Encircled by a colonnade of skinny Italian cypress trees, the city of Arcosanti emerges as a somehow decadent, retro-futurist temple.
Conceived by Italian visionary architect Paolo Soleri in the 60’s and 70’s decades, this Utopian city made of massive concrete structures of organic forms is the expression of his particular philosophy: Arcology, the fusion of architecture and ecology.

The Geométricas Hot Springs Chile

These are the result of an ambitious project carried out by architect Germán del Sol. By constructing with wood and noble materials, he sought to take nature into geometry so as to achieve a harmonious whole. This new, original thermal complex is located next to the Aihué stream, which has abundant water sources.

Fred Tougas for ROWSE

A thick fog had set early that morning of an already rainy April. The atmosphere was almost too heavy to bear, but already I knew I was going to enjoy myself very, very much. I had been wandering on my own for a little more than a week then. Spending these moments alone was the only way I found to truly connect to my immediate environment, and it still is.

Meet Pia Riverola

"I love light and textures on deserted areas and colours and lushness from wilderness. I always feel very drawned towards inhabited areas and discovering remote locations. One of my lately favourite one has been Peru, exploring the secret valley of the Incas, Cusco and the Salinas de Maras was one of the most beautiful and unexpected places I’ve ever seen."

Notes from the Volcano

We are innately drawn to volcanoes. Feared and venerated, sacred for some civilisations, the gates of hell or home to ancient gods and goddesses for others, there’s something visceral that attracts us to a mountain that expels fire from the inner core of the Earth. Following this natural impulse, one that transcends our natural survival instinct, I have travelled on a quest to find the most unique lava landscapes.
