ROWSE

1. Hi Clara, could you introduce yourself to our readers?

CLARA
Hi Rowse! I am 27 years old and currently based in Copenhagen where I was born and raised. I am the senior Brand and Art Director at Skall Studio, a Danish fashion brand where I have been working for three years. I have a bachelor's degree in Digital Design and have worked as a model since I was 16. I love being able to combine several of my passions in my work, using a variety of skills, from graphic design, art direction, casting and photography. Creating and executing creative concepts with the talented people I work with brings me so much joy and inspiration every day.

2. What do you like most about your job?

CLARA
I really enjoy the variety of days and the multifaceted nature of the work. Some days I research, brainstorm and bounce off ideas with colleagues and friends; other days are spent behind my desk doing graphic design and answering emails, while others are spent in the studio or on location creating photo and video material. The variety keeps me on my toes and, most importantly, I get to meet a lot of inspiring people.

3. How would you describe your style? What would you like to communicate with it?

CLARA
I would describe my style as minimalist and, I hope, timeless. I am not afraid to wear the same pieces over and over again, and my go-to everyday uniform usually consists of blue jeans, a t-shirt or crisp shirt, a trench coat and a pair of ballerinas - with a turtleneck and boots in the winter. I don’t thrive on the fast-paced nature of trends, so I'm happy to invest in a few well-made pieces that will last a long time.

4. How does living in Copenhagen specifically inspire what you do?

CLARA
For me, Copenhagen’s everyday lifestyle is inspiring in itself. We are close to nature, ride our bikes everywhere and jump in the canals after work. This balance is very important to me, especially as I work in a quite fast-paced industry. But also from a creative perspective, Copenhagen is a great place to be inspired on a daily basis - I feel really lucky to live in a city with great art, design, fashion and food. I spend a lot of time researching and exploring the city to find new inspiration.

5. What makes a good day for you? How do you like to start and end your day?

CLARA
For me, a good day starts with a cup of black tea with oat milk, a shower and breakfast –a routine I rarely skip. I prioritise time for a little self-care every day, both in the morning and in the evening. The best evenings are spent cooking a simple dinner with people I love, probably followed by a cup of tea again.

6. What’s your idea of beauty?

CLARA
Beauty is about feeling comfortable in our own skin. Embracing our differences and trying not to get too caught up by today's high and often unrealistic beauty standards. Above all, as cliché as it sounds, beauty comes from within.

7. We’re curious about your daily skincare routine.

CLARA
I have a very simple skincare routine. In the morning I usually wash my face with lukewarm water. I love to dry-brush both before taking a shower and then apply the Winter Body Oil to lock in moisture. For my face, I start with the Eye Contour Serum and then apply the All-Day Hydration Serum with Niacinamide, which is really light and suits my skin so well. In the evening, I cleanse my face with the Tangerine Cleansing Balm, apply a light moisturiser again and, if my skin needs a bit more hydration, I massage my face with Hazelnut Oil, which is the only one that does not clog my pores.

8. How were you first introduced to ROWSE? What do you like the most about it? Any favourites in the range?

CLARA
I was introduced to ROWSE through a lovely collaboration with Nuria Val, and the products have become a staple for me ever since. The Tangerine Cleansing Balm is my favourite so far, and the best cleanser I have ever used.

9. Do you have any rituals that help you stay grounded?

CLARA
Reading is always a very grounding and calming ritual for me. It stimulates my imagination and is one of the best ways for me to unwind and let go of all my thoughts after a long day.

ROWSE

10. What’s next for you? Any plans for the next few months?

CLARA
I am currently travelling around Japan with my boyfriend, who has been working here for a few months. It is a dream come true to experience this beautiful country, and it has given me a lot of inspiration both personally and professionally. I am looking forward to getting back to work and excited about all of the projects that lie ahead for me this autumn and winter, and I hope to carry this inspiration and this journey with me for a long time to come.
